BROEK is a lavish biennial open-air festival in the beautiful Provincial Green Estate Vrijbroek Park. The fourth edition expands from three to six days, with ten very diverse theatre and dance performances: a double dose of viewing and listening pleasure! This time, we're aiming for both large and exuberant productions and small and intimate ones, with attention for established names as well as young creators. Moreover, the program will be more actual than ever, with two avant-premières and a creation commission. On top of that, by linking up with city festival Construct Europe, this edition has a distinctly European tinge in its programming.
BAR BROEK
At BAR BROEK, Mechelen's cosiest summer bar, you can again enjoy delicious street food and local drinks, even if you missed out on a ticket.
The summer bar opens on Friday at 5 pm and on Saturday and Sunday as early as 2 pm. The food trucks always open at 5 pm. So you're welcome to come for drinks and food!
Come and enjoy a fresh 'Kruiperke' and delicious wines from The Neck that perfectly complement our own range of soft drinks and beers. During the two weekends we will provide you with a varied, varied offer of street food: Verace with pizzas, Yumbel with thai dishes, Pasta di Lara with southern cuisine, Rachel's and Delicious Burgers with juicy burgers, the Krokfiets with crispy croques and Orthello with coffee and ice cream are eager to spoil you with all their goodies, on one or both festival weekends.
Location
The festival takes place at the Provinciaal Groendomein Vrijbroekpark - Ridder Dessainlaan 65, 2800 Mechelen. Signs at all entrances will help you find your way to BAR BROEK. Preferably come to the festival by bike and/or public transport. You can park your bike right next to BAR BROEK. Coming by car? Park on Parking Eekhoorn (across Mechelseweg 60). Then follow the arrows to BAR BROEK: via the Hombeeksesteenweg and then the Potaardestraat, you will reach the festival site in ten minutes.
