Belgium Booms x JazzLab @ Brussels Jazz Festival
Belgium Booms and JazzLab are once again organising an extensive international visitor programme, next year during the Brussels Jazz Festival in Flagey (Brussels) from 21 to 23 January 2027!
Every year, Belgium Booms and JazzLab join forces with an existing renowned jazz event through an international visitor programme. After appearances at BRAND! Festival in Mechelen in 2025 and Motives For Jazz Festival in Tongeren in 2026, it will be the turn of the Brussels Jazz Festival in 2027. For the event, professionals from the broad international jazz scene are invited to explore our local scene, thereby facilitating international networking. Four Belgian bands are given a full place at the festival and, together with the organisers, select a limited, carefully chosen group of international professionals to attend their performances and with whom they can network intensively.
Are you ready to broaden your horizons?
A few spots have been reserved on the Brussels Jazz Festival line-up especially for this visitor programme. Register for the open call and who knows, you might be one of the four artists selected by an international group of experts. You will not only be playing for your enthusiastic fans, but also for a host of international jazz professionals (who you can also bring along yourself). This is the perfect opportunity to put yourself in the international spotlight. The selected projects will also receive promotional and strategic support and lots of networking opportunities.
Who is it for?
This call is intended for professional Belgian jazz musicians or groups with a current project that deserves a place on international stages.
Conditions?

- - The artist(s) is (are) willing to play a concert (+- 60 min.) for a fee of 350 euros per musician, which is guaranteed for quintet line-ups. If the line-up is larger, a fair fee will be agreed upon in mutual consultation.
- - The submitted jazz project has the ambition to continue in the proposed line-up in the coming years and to build an international career.
- - The submitted jazz project has the necessary professionalism, through management, other support or its own experience, to tour internationally and already has a well-founded idea of which countries or regions it wants to focus on.

Belgium Booms and the nona arts centre collect all applications. An international committee of jazz professionals selects the artists who will be allowed to perform, under the supervision of the festival organisers and the visitor programme. Inclusion and diversity in terms of gender, ethnicity, age, etc. are important parameters in the selection and evaluation process.
