Jazz bij de buren/ Salut les voisins
LEUVEN JAZZ & GAUME JAZZ
Flanders and Wallonia, one country, two jazz scenes? Too often we are strangers to each other, coexisting side by side, each with its own approach and its own music scene. JazzLab and Walloon counterpart Fazz are therefore joining forces for a project across language borders. Together with two strong festivals, one from Flanders and one from Wallonia, we are creating a musical exchange. Each will include four brilliant bands from the other part of the country in its programming. This unique Flemish-Walloon-Brussels alliance also gets an international touch: ten foreign programmers are invited to discover the rich Belgian jazz scene.
Leuven Jazz and Gaume Jazz have been part of our Belgian jazz scene for years, with a diverse programming that brings together quality from home and abroad for an audience of new discoverers and dedicated aficionados. And jazz is pre-eminently the universal language that breaks down borders and connects cultures.
