BRAND! DAY 3
KRESTEN OSGOOD QUINTET + LOTTE ANKER, ANDERS ‘AC’ CHRISTENSEN & KRESTEN OSGOOD + JEPPE ZEEBERG SOLO
BRAND! Day 3 features the irresistible – and at times hilarious – Kresten Osgood Quintet, a solo concert by the versatile pianist Jeppe Zeeberg, and a one-off concert with the legendary saxophonist Lotte Anker, the enchanting bassist Anders ‘AC’ Christensen and the versatile drummer Kresten Osgood: three key figures who – at the request of BRAND! – are delighted to be playing together for the first time in this unique line-up. Not to be missed.
JEPPE ZEEBERG | SOLO
Pianist Jeppe Zeeberg is regarded as one of the most idiosyncratic and original musicians on the contemporary Danish improv and jazz scene.
As well as his work as bandleader of innovative Scandinavian groups such as Horse Orchestra and The Absolute Pinnacle of Human Achievement, Zeeberg has already made a major impression as a solo pianist in the US, Japan, China and Europe, amongst other places, with his unique blend of original compositions, free improvisation and an unparalleled live presence.
Zeeberg has already released ten albums under his own name, a significant number of which are piano albums acclaimed by critics. All About Jazz describes his work as “a beautiful, convincing proposal for how modern jazz or contemporary music may sound”.

LOTTE ANKER, ANDERS ‘AC’ CHRISTENSEN & KRESTEN OSGOOD
At the invitation of BRAND!, three giants of Danish jazz are set to perform together on stage for the first time.
Saxophonist Lotte Anker operates at the intersection of jazz, improvisation and contemporary classical music, in highly acclaimed collaborations with, amongst others, Sylvie Courvoisier, Fred Frith, Craig Taborn, Gerald Cleaver and the twelve-piece Copenhagen Art Ensemble. Bassist Anders ‘AC’ Christensen has already left an indelible mark on the Danish and international jazz scenes, in a trio with guitarist Jakob Bro (see BRAND! Day 4) and drummer Brian Blade, in Tomasz Stańko’s quintet and in Paul Motian’s ensemble.
Kresten Osgood is the connecting factor in this unique trio: he has already played with Lotte Anker and ‘AC’ in various line-ups, but never before have these three Danish icons shared the stage together. There is great mutual respect, and curiosity to match. Different styles and many years of Danish jazz history are condensed into this one-off (?) concert.

KRESTEN OSGOOD QUINTET
Kresten Osgood has been considered a central figure in Danish jazz for decades. The versatile drummer has collaborated with influential names such as Paul Bley, William Parker, Jason Moran, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Mats Gustafsson, Peter Brötzmann and Brad Mehldau, and has won numerous music awards in his home country.
With his all-star quintet, Osgood creates a powerful sound that is deeply rooted in the jazz tradition, yet constantly explores new directions. The clear, piercing tone of Norwegian trumpet virtuoso Erik Kimestad blends with the depth and fearless improvisational style of Danish saxophonist Mads Egetoft. At the piano, Jeppe Zeeberg provides a bold harmonic richness. The much-sought-after Danish bassist Matthias Petri subtly redefines the group’s rhythmic and harmonic framework.
The group has been recognised as one of Denmark’s finest live bands for almost 15 years. Their second album, *Live at H15 Studio*, won the Danish Music Award for ‘Jazz Release of the Year’ in 2024.
