Pianist Ayumi Tanaka and drummer Thomas Strønen already left an indelible impression at nona in 2022, back then with Time Is a Blind Guide. Now they return, joined by an absolute dream guest: top American bassist Thomas Morgan, beloved for his poetic, almost weightless playing and his work with the likes of Bill Frisell and Jakob Bro (see BRAND! 2026).

This trio brings intimate acoustic jazz at its best. Expect an intuitive interplay that is lyrical and clear, full of subtle underlying tension. It is music that breathes space: every note, glance, and silence counts. Tanaka, Morgan, and Strønen compose in the moment and gently carry you along in a stream of discovery.

La pianiste Ayumi Tanaka et le batteur Thomas Strønen ont déjà laissé une impression indélébile à nona en 2022, à l’époque avec Time Is a Blind Guide. Ils reviennent aujourd’hui, accompagnés d’un invité de rêve absolu : le grand bassiste américain Thomas Morgan, apprécié pour son jeu poétique, presque en apesanteur, et ses collaborations avec notamment Bill Frisell et Jakob Bro (voir BRAND! 2026).
