Terre Sol Four - release concert 'Grichte'
You know drummer Karen Willems from her adventures with Yuko, Zita Swoon Group and Jan Swerts, among others. From pop and rock to experimental music, encounters with like-minded people from other directions and free improvisation. The openness and the urge to explore was the constant factor. With Inwolves she already explored a world of her own, but recently she has been looking even more strongly for the essence of her practice with Terre Sol.
Together with saxophonists Vincent Brijs, Marc De Maeseneer and John Snauwaert, she explores the terrain between gnarly jazz and rock, with thunderous repetitions, ecstatic cries and an unstoppable drive.
With the double album Grichte (May 2022, WERF Records) under their belts, they will hit the road during a JazzLab tour in Flanders.
Lucid Lucia - release concert 'Ever Changing Light'
Lucid Lucia (formerly known as BRZZVLL) will blow you away with their new album Ever Changing Light.
A long-awaited return to the steamy, swirling nightlife, full of spacey sounds, fat bass lines and rolling beats. Arrangements that within the grid offer space for improvisation, individual manifestations and the controlled mastery of instruments in a way that is particularly unique. Musical instruments are an extension of creative minds, decisions made audible in a split second to the audience who experience the call for freedom, minds set free in the here and now.
This new album will be released - after the eponymous mini album of 2021 - on the Belgian SDBAN Records, specialising in lively contemporary jazz and funk. Get ready for danceable vibes and the melodies and rhythms of live jazz!
