350 years after the death of French comedy writer Molière, Sarah Moeremans and Joachim Robbrecht bring to life the characters from his best-known play Le Misanthrope. Or maybe they never really died. Because irony, comedy and cynicism is of all times. In this modernised version, set in seventeenth-century Paris, Sarah and Joachim give their own take on humour, hypocrisy and well-meaningness.
With a Palace of Mirrors as its setting and French-inspired costumes, Mission Molière is an upbeat linguistic comedy that will show you different forms of humour. You are guaranteed not to get the catchy chansons out of your head ("Let me sing!"). The characters each have their own character and are given a contemporary twist in Mission Molière.

Over Molière
Molière, geboren als Jean-Baptise Poquelin (1622-1673), was een Franse toneelschrijver en acteur die bekend is geworden met zijn satirische komedies. Hij trad met succes op voor Lodewijk de XIV en zijn hele hof in de zaal van het Louvre. Met Les Précieuses Ridicules opende hij een reeks van ongeveer dertig kluchten en blijspelen die hem beroemd maakten, ook lang na zijn dood. In zijn belangrijkste komedies, zoals De Mensenhater, bekritiseerde hij de sociale omgangsvormen van zijn tijd.
