ATTENTION: for obvious reasons this concert has been canceled.
Merope's youngest record was rewarded with the prize for best Belgian CD in the world category by radio station Klara. Anyone who reads the jury report will know why the band provides subdued fireworks: "Naktės is a spun-out dream from which you don't want to wake up. An example of how musicians from different spheres work together respectfully: "This is partly due to the conjuring voice of Indrė Jurgelevičiūtė and her wonderful Kanklès (a Lithuanian zither instrument), but also to Jean Christophe Bonnafous's assertive tones on his bansuri (an Indian flute) and the guitar sounds with additional electronics by Bert Cools.

"This album is as delicate as it is deep; something very special indeed." - Songlines, UK
Especially for this occasion they invite two top musicians who may not be unfamiliar to you. Dutch pianist Harmen Fraanje came/will come to nona earlier this season with Trio Reijseger Fraanje Sylla. Percussionist Toma Gouband is a regular partner of Fraanje and already came to Mechelen for concerts with Raphael Malfliet's Large Ensemble and the quartet Machtelinckx/Badenhorst/Cools/Gouband, in which Bert Cools also plays. In short, a recipe for a unique and heartwarming evening.
