We know the bassist Yannick Peeters as the sidekick to Kurt Van Herck, Dré Pallemaerts, Frank Vaganee, Christophe Erbstösser, Bart Van Caenegem, Fre Desmyter, Yves Peeters, Ewout Pierreux and others, but now is the time for her to come up with a project of her own. She has succeeding in bringing together a genuine dream team. The kind of team that allows her to make music that throws unnecessary baggage overboard and commits fully to a sound that is as daring as it is authentic.

The bassist had been searching for a more spiritual sound that would be able to take on various forms and incorporate strong contrasts, with elements of jazz, rock, avant-garde and improvisation. Rawness, fragility, lyricism, originality and integrity all needed to co-exist. The musicians she has invited are all personalities with a vision, stubborn creatives who don’t settle for second best.
The soprano Claron McFadden has caused a storm in countless classical productions and is increasingly present in jazz circles. She makes a mark on every project she contributes to with her expressive voice. Jim Black is one of the most influential drummers of his generation, who has played with big names such as Tim Berne and Dave Douglas. Need we say more? Peeters has also called in the alto saxophonist Frans Van Isacker and the guitarist Frederik Leroux, who can easily be counted among the most idiosyncratic representatives of Belgian jazz and improvisation. These are unquiet spirits continually in search of new sounds. In short, ideal travelling companions for Yannick Peeters.
