The Avant Joik trio combines cheerful vocal and visual experiments with joik, the song of the Sami from the far north. Will-o'-the-wisps meet trolls, the northern lights embrace the boundless power of nature. The three members of Avant Joik possess the same boundless power. Maja Ratkje has received several awards as one of the most fascinating female composers of our time, Katarina Barruk is an advocate for Sami culture and Matti Aikio creates visual fireworks.
