Bas Devos' new film, Here, won the top prize in the Encounters competition at the Berlin Film Festival. The film - a co-production of arts center nona - tells the story of a Romanian worker who works in Brussels but wants to return to his homeland. Here was also awarded the previous week with the Fipresci Award by the International Federation of Film Critics.

The 7th edition of BRAND! was one to remember. With no less than twelve concerts spread over five festival days, it was the most ambitious edition of the festival so far. It was good to see that the concerts were well attended in the two halls of nona and the Stadsschouwburg of Mechelen. Notable among these was the great enthusiasm for homegrown jazz, which played a leading role.

Vitja Pauwels even realized his ultimate dream by sharing the stage with his musical hero. He managed to get guitar beast Marc Ribot in his band on the final day of BRAND!

In the past, you could already see Lara Rosseel at work in various formations. With her octet and quintet, bassist Lara Rosseel proved not only that she can compose, but also lead a band.  During BRAND! you can see her at work as a solo artist, in duo with Laura Cortese and in XXL version with her own orchestra during ARK.

Nona is proud to announce the 10th anniversary edition of the Contour Biennale for the Moving Image. C0N10UR starts in exactly one year and runs from September 8 to November 5 in 2023 and is curated by Auguste Orts. Auguste Orts is a Brussels-based production and distribution platform founded in 2006 and currently led by artists Herman Asselberghs, Sven Augustijnen, Manon de Boer, Anouk De Clercq and Fairuz Ghammam. Since years, they each have been exhibiting and screening their (audio)visual works internationally, including at previous editions of the Contour biennale (De Clercq and de Boer in 2005, Asselberghs in 2009 and Augustijnen in 2003 and 2013).
