'Here' by Bas Devos wins Encounters at Berlin Film Festival

Bas Devos' new film, Here, won the top prize in the Encounters competition at the Berlin Film Festival. The film - a co-production of arts center nona - tells the story of a Romanian worker who works in Brussels but wants to return to his homeland. Here was also awarded the previous week with the Fipresci Award by the International Federation of Film Critics.

Devos' fourth feature film had its world premiere at the 73rd edition of the Berlinale. It was voted best film in the Encounters program by an international jury headed by festival curator Paolo Moretti. That festival program focuses on innovative narrative feature films and documentaries. 

It is Bas Devos' third film to premiere at the Berlinale, after Violet and Hellhole.
