Accessibility
The offices, café and auditoria are in the very heart of Mechelen city centre. Begijnenstraat is diagonally opposite the main entrance to St. Rumbold's Cathedral. It is the narrow street between the Vismarkt and the Cathedral.
It’s a great idea to come here on foot, by bike or by public transport. It’s good for the environment and good for you.
>>> get here by bicycle:
Across Begijnenstraat, at the St. Rombouts tower, you'll find an extensive bicycle parking area. This way we keep our narrow street accessible to local traffic.
>>> get here by train:
Only 12 minutes’ walk from Mechelen Nekkerspoel and 17 minutes from Mechelen Centraal.
>>> get here by car:
The nearest underground car parks are Kathedraal, Grote Markt, Parking Center and Lamot. All of them are within walking distance of nona arts centre. You can find free parking outside the city centre at Douaneplein (near the UGC cinemas) or Begijnenweide (Tom&Co). Begijnenstraat itself is not accessible to cars without a permit.
Currently, there are road works everywhere in Mechelen, so the traffic situation changes frequently. The most up-to-date information about the accessibility of our venues can always be found via this link. The Waze app always sends you in the right direction!
>>> people with a disability:
arts centre nona is accessible to wheelchair users. Let us know you are coming and we will make sure you get any support you need.
